The short answer
Of the ten Warm Homes Loan Scheme lenders, 2 let the customer apply direct with a quote from any MCS certified installer (one is paused, one lends only around Manchester), 5 lend through installers (three publish a way to sign up, two you have to ask), 2 work only with their own or named installers, and 1 has published nothing about the scheme yet. Answer five questions below to see which lenders fit your next job, with the sign-up link for each.
Every lender was checked on its own website on 30 Oct 2026, and each fact below links to the page it came from. Where a lender publishes nothing, we say so rather than guess. For the scheme's caps and quote rules, see our Warm Homes Loan Scheme guide for installers.

More lenders are coming
The factsheet says further lenders and products are expected to join as the scheme develops. The first lender application window has closed, and the government expects to open another later in 2026. The Scheme Rules say that window is for onboarding in early 2027, with annual windows after it. Several lenders are also still building their own pages: Selina says it will open to brokers and customers in the coming weeks, and Hometree and thisbank have no scheme page yet.
We re-check every lender each week and update this page and the finder when anything changes.
Before you put a loan in a quote
- MCS for every measure. Every lender checks it, and Selina asks for your MCS number on the quote.
- Credit broking. Introducing customers to a lender is usually regulated by the FCA. Agree the arrangement with the lender first.
- Who gets paid, and when. The Money Co-op and Selina pay the customer, not you, and Selina pays after installation. Set your deposit and payment terms with that in mind.
- The caps. £15,000 for solar PV and £15,000 for a battery, with scaffolding and the grid connection inside the cap. Check a quote in our quote checker.
Warm Homes Loan lenders: FAQ
Which Warm Homes Loan lenders can installers sign up with?
On 30 Oct 2026, three lenders published a way for independent installers to offer their scheme loans: Propensio (contact its partnerships team), Secure Trust Bank through its V12 Retail Finance platform (which asks for FCA authorisation, £1.5m turnover and 24 months' trading) and Selina Finance through OpenSolar only. Tandem and Hometree Finance work through installer partners but publish no sign-up route for the scheme, so you have to ask them.
Which lenders let the customer use any MCS installer?
The Money Co-op and South Manchester Credit Union take applications direct from the customer with a quote from any MCS certified installer. When we checked, The Money Co-op had temporarily paused new applications after a high response, and South Manchester Credit Union lends only to members, who must live or work in South and Central Manchester or Trafford.
Which Warm Homes Loan lenders are closed to independent installers?
HomeServe Finance lists BOXT and E.ON Next as its only partners, and Sunsave lends only on installations by its own team. Neither publishes an installer sign-up.
Do I need FCA authorisation to offer a Warm Homes Loan?
Introducing a customer to a lender is usually credit broking, which the FCA regulates. Each lender sets its own terms: V12 Retail Finance, for example, requires FCA authorisation to offer interest-bearing credit or terms over 12 months. If the customer applies to the lender themselves, you only supply a quote that meets the scheme's rules.
When will more Warm Homes Loan lenders join?
The first lender application window has closed. The government says it expects to open a further window later in 2026, and the Scheme Rules say for onboarding in early 2027, with annual windows after that. We re-check every lender each week and update this page.
Does the Warm Homes Loan Scheme cover business premises?
No. The property must be residential and owned by the borrower, who is a homeowner or a private landlord borrowing in their own name. Commercial solar needs other finance.
