Solar Leads UK: 8 Solar Lead Companies Compared
The short answer
UK solar lead companies sell three different things: enquiries (a name and number), hot keys or live transfers, and booked appointments. Most sell homeowner leads for domestic solar; only a few focus on commercial. Compare what is delivered, how it is qualified, how exclusive it is and what happens when a lead is bad, then look at price.
This is not a ranking and not exhaustive. Suppliers are listed alphabetically, and every detail comes from the company's own solar leads page, checked on 8 October 2026 (see Sources). Solar Surveys UK is one of the eight, so we've kept our own entry separate and stuck to the same facts for everyone. Confirm prices and terms with each supplier before you buy.

Enquiries, hot keys and booked appointments
The biggest difference between suppliers isn't price, it's what arrives. Three formats come up again and again:
- Enquiries (form fills). Contact details from someone who filled in a form, sometimes phone-checked first. Cheapest per lead; you do the qualifying, chasing and booking.
- Hot keys or live transfers. The supplier's call centre puts the customer through to you while they're on the line. You speak to them at the moment of interest, but someone has to be free to take the call.
- Booked appointments. The supplier has spoken to the customer and booked a visit or call in your diary. The most expensive per lead, and the closest to a sale, so compare on cost per sat appointment rather than cost per lead.
We go through this in more depth in solar leads UK: booked surveys vs form fills, and the cost maths is in how much commercial solar leads cost.
The suppliers, one by one
Alphabetical. Each summary uses the supplier's own wording where it makes a claim about itself.
Capital Leads
Says it generates 100% exclusive solar leads from Google Search with a quiz funnel, verifies phone numbers with a two-step check and confirms the person is a homeowner, then delivers in real time to your CRM. Pay per lead with no contracts, set-up fees or monthly fees; you order how many leads you want each week. It mentions refund terms in its FAQ but doesn't set them out on the page.
Clean Energy Group
Focused on commercial solar. Says its CEG Ai Prospector software, B2B intent data and outbound email and LinkedIn campaigns are used to book meetings with commercial property decision-makers, and describes its leads as vetted and exclusive. It lists offices in London, Sydney and Houston. Pricing is by quote.
GMS Leads
Generates online enquiries with recorded consent, and offers both raw web enquiries and leads voice-confirmed by a UK quality-control team. Says its solar leads are exclusive and never re-sold. Covers England, Scotland and Wales for HHCRO solar PV. Qualified leads can be replaced within nine consecutive days if they don't qualify, can't be contacted or won't book; web enquiries only if the details are a hoax.
Lead Pronto
Says most of its solar leads come from Meta and Google Ads, checked by an in-house call centre against criteria you set (homeowner, budget, roof, conservation area). It publishes prices: standard leads £25, branded leads £35, booked hotkey appointments from £130, excluding VAT. Exclusive and shared options, no contract or notice period, and a revenue-share option after a trial. Based in Birkenhead.
Leads 2 Trade
Generates solar PV and solar thermal enquiries from its own information websites and qualifies them through its in-house call centre: homeowner, work needed within six months, details correct, house type and roof orientation, best time to call. Offers a "no pitch, no fee" premium lead. Installers must be MCS registered with at least one year's stable trading. Based in Stockport.
Leads Everyday
Runs Google Ads and outreach for your business with a bespoke landing page, and sends exclusive enquiries straight to your phone. Covers domestic, commercial, battery and maintenance work across the UK. Takes no commission on jobs; you can cancel anytime. Based in Fareham.
Sales Fuel
Offers form-fill leads, live call transfers and pre-booked appointments for solar PV, solar thermal and battery. Says leads are checked for homeowner status, roof suitability, budget and intent to install within one to three months, and are exclusive for 30 days. Delivery to your CRM, a Google Sheet or by email; pay as you go or bulk.
Where Solar Surveys UK fits
Solar Surveys UK, a brand of TNW Marketing, sells one thing: booked commercial solar survey appointments with business owners and decision-makers. No residential leads. Every lead comes from TNW Marketing's own campaigns and is qualified by phone by a UK-based team, who confirm the decision-maker, roof ownership, energy use and genuine intent before a survey is booked.
Pricing is by system size, from £400+VAT for sub-40kW up to £1,000+VAT for 750kW+, and you pay per booked appointment with no retainer. Under our no sit, no pay guarantee you don't pay for a survey the customer doesn't sit for. Leads go to a small number of best-matched installers, and you see how many have registered interest before you commit. See commercial solar leads for the full offer, or regional pages for London, Manchester and Birmingham.
If you mainly fit domestic systems, a homeowner lead supplier from the list above is likely the better fit. If you want 40kW+ business rooftops, compare us with the commercial specialists.
How to choose a solar lead company
Seven questions to put to any supplier, us included:
- What exactly is delivered. An enquiry (a name and number), a hot key or live transfer (the customer on the phone now), or a booked appointment. The price only means something once you know which.
- Residential or commercial. Most UK suppliers sell homeowner leads. If you install 40kW+ systems on business premises, ask whether they generate commercial enquiries at all, and how they reach decision-makers.
- How the lead is qualified. Look for named criteria: homeowner or decision-maker, roof, timescale, budget. A phone check by a person is different from an automated form check.
- Exclusive, shared or time-limited. "Exclusive" can mean one installer forever, or one installer for 30 days. Ask how many installers receive each lead and for how long.
- Replacement terms in writing. Some suppliers publish a replacement window and conditions; others only mention a policy. Get the conditions in writing before your first order.
- Contract and minimums. Most suppliers here advertise no contract. Check minimum orders, notice periods and whether a trial is required first.
- Entry requirements. Some ask for MCS registration or a trading history. If you're still getting certified, see our MCS guide first.
Run a small trial with any new supplier and track every lead to the end: contacted, surveyed, quoted, won. Cost per installed job is the only number that compares suppliers fairly. Before the first lead arrives, have your process ready: our commercial solar survey checklist and how to sell commercial solar cover the visit and the close.
Buying leads is one channel of several. Our guide to how to get commercial solar leads compares nine, and there are deeper guides to SEO for solar companies, Google and Facebook ads and partnerships and referrals. If a supplier asks for MCS, see MCS certification for solar installers; for larger systems, the grid side is in our G99 application guide.
Solar lead companies: FAQ
Which is the best solar lead company in the UK?
It depends on what you install. Most UK suppliers sell homeowner enquiries for domestic solar; a few, including Clean Energy Group and Solar Surveys UK, focus on commercial work. Compare lead type, qualification, exclusivity and replacement terms rather than headline price. This guide is not a ranking.
How much do solar leads cost in the UK?
Published prices vary by lead type. Lead Pronto lists standard leads from £25 and booked appointments from £130 (ex VAT). Many suppliers don't publish prices. Solar Surveys UK prices booked commercial survey appointments from £400+VAT to £1,000+VAT by system size.
Are exclusive solar leads worth paying more for?
Often, if exclusivity is real and the lead is qualified. Check what exclusive means: Sales Fuel, for example, says its leads are exclusive for 30 days. A well-qualified lead shared with two installers can still beat an unqualified exclusive one.
What is a hot key solar lead?
A hot key or live transfer is a lead passed to you while the customer is still on the phone with the supplier's call centre, so you speak to them straight away. Leads 2 Trade, Lead Pronto and Sales Fuel all list hot keys.
Do I need MCS to buy solar leads?
Some suppliers require it. Leads 2 Trade asks installers to be MCS registered with at least one year's trading. MCS covers installations up to 50kW, so for larger commercial systems ask what certification the supplier expects.
Where can I buy commercial solar leads in the UK?
Fewer suppliers specialise in commercial. Clean Energy Group books meetings with commercial decision-makers by quote; Lead Pronto has a separate commercial page; Solar Surveys UK books commercial survey appointments priced by system size, with no sit, no pay.
